On June 22, 2018, I climbed my second 4000 footer with my 15yo son. This time we had a clear day for our hike, although it was cool with a nice breeze at the top. Perfect after a long, sweaty hike!
We decided to take the easier, but longer side of the loop trail both up and down and it was a good choice, having completed Mount Garfield just a week ago. This was a beautiful, gentle hike with lots of views once you hit tree line and start following the cairns up the rest of the way. There is a .2 mile offshoot to “south peak” so we hiked that as well.
Here are some pictures of our day:)
