Get Lost at Echo Lake State Park

We took a quick hike around the lake at Echo Lake State Park a few weeks ago.  The weather was crisp and clear without a cloud in the sky.  My first impression of the park was how absolutely clean it was.  The picnic tables and grills were in tip top shape.  I can’t wait to have a picnic here this summer!  The lake has very clear water and you can see right down to the sandy bottom.  Whitehorse Ledge provides a scenic backdrop that is absolutely stunning.  We were able to see a climber and luckily my mom was prepared with her binoculars.  Huck Finn had a good time watching the rock climber through those things.

The hike around the lake is not very long.  This is a hike that can be done easily with children and is quite engaging and fun.  There are little places along the lake to stop and get new perspective.  Many people we saw at the lake were bird watching, hiking or just taking in the views.

Echo Lake State Park also has wonderful bathroom facilities as well as grills and a large picnic area by the water.  This mom is looking forward to some lazy summer afternoons at Echo Lake!

Ciao for now:)
